On some worlds it is enjoyed in beer and latte coffee drinks and pies.

Some use it to fold space and move giant startships through out the known universe.

If you consume to much the great pumpkin king will come and carve you with a knife and eat you.

- Have a very happy, fun and safe Halloween :)

That is how the navigators in the Dune books are able to travel great distances in space.

That is ONE creepy looking pumpkin, mah-man! I'd like to imagine myself as one of the "space-folders".
I hope you get to enjoy the spice any way you prefer.

Big fan of pumpkin pies.
Have had pumpkin spice beer. Bit of a novelty. Neither here nor there on the beer. A friend who owns a bar got a bunch of it one year. Helped him drink most of it at a severe price cut just to get rid of it when it didn't sell.

Love the Herbert reference, one of my fave scifi books.

When reading the books or watching the Lynch movie, thoughts of pumpkin spice come to mind whenever the narrative goes on about "the spice".

My main thought while watching the Lynch movie was "What the **fcuks** happening here?!!... oh cool, it's Sting!"

But, I wouldn't have read the book if the movie had made any sense, so I guess I need to give Lynch some thanks. It was a similar thing with the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey, a work colleague had a book based on the screen play, which I then felt compelled to read.

It's interesting that Frank refered to Melange as The Spice, rather than a mind altering drug, which it clearly was. Then we can all marvel how the navigators could get around the universe without stopping off for munchies all the time.

I enjoyed the movies and the books for 2001 and Dune. The movies are so different from the books. You just have to enjoy them for themselves and consider them as different entities.
